error message, 0xA00f4244 no camera available

Dell Xps 13 here.. Same problem. Camera manufacturer driver not found under legacy hardware. My warranty expired last year in January. A month or two later my camera stopped working. I tried every solution available online, does not work. 

Recently, I became more desperate since I am working from home and have to attend virtual meetings. This problem exists ever since dell had launched their first laptop with integrated camera and they still don't have a solution for this. 

Today, I had a chat with tech support. Turns out I know more than her about the Tech support. Lady could not help me instead, let me know that my service has expired and since it's a software issue they can issue me a ticket for $99 to solve my problem. If I was eager to spend $99 i would have purchased the warranty a year ago with $140. Then she forwarded my issue to another specialist, who sent me a link of a YouTube video. All the steps in the video, I have tried them already, at the end of the video they suggest to contact Tech support if it does not work   It is like an endless cycle.

I'm going to try and use System Restore options from control panel. You ( @juggler1972 ) can try that as well. But you have secure your files before you do that. I'm not saying this will fix our problem but it seems like a last option.

I've got the same problem. At first it functioned properly, but after the warranty lapsed: 0xA00F4244.

I do not understand why Dell does not fix this

I’ve had the same issue, but I’ve found the camera to be in Device Manager under a corrupted USB driver. I managed to get it to work after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but this then became corrupted again after a restart.

Anyone else have this?

Check if it has been disabled in BIOS?

Actually I have upcoming university exams....

I never used my laptop Webcam...

But now I started it, it is showing the same error 0xA00f4244 camera not attached...

I need to fix this problem as soon as possible...

Quando abro a câmera do meu dell inspiron 14 2640 aparece o código de erro 0xA00F4244. 

A câmera não aparece no Gerenciador de Dispositivos.

Meu windows 10 está atualizado (sempre verifico o update)

Não sei mais o que fazer!

I had the same issue and resolved by disconnecting all my USB devices during reboot.  The devices can be are attached after the reboot

I have the same issue, however, the camera checkbox on Bios is marked. Anyone have the same issue?

I've just sent this email to the other people concerned after the camera on my XPS13 stopped working in the middle of a Zoom meeting:

"So sorry about the problem with our laptop camera. After lots of checks (and advice from our live-in computer expert) it’s looking clear that the camera has simply failed – which for a laptop less than eighteen months old is not very impressive. Even less impressive is that there is a Dell ‘community’ – these days one of the most overworked words in the English language – and its website is full of comments like ‘I knew Dell technical support was bad but I didn’t realise how bad!’   

"I now know how bad. If you try to contact Dell technical support via their website you’re asked (via an on-screen question – there’s no hope of getting through to a real person) whether your computer is still under warranty. If it isn’t, you’re given the option of buying a year’s warranty for £96 (I think the figure was) plus £36 as a ‘renewal fee’! Or you can send your computer to them for a ‘full hardware diagnostic assessment’, which costs £44: that’s to get a ‘competitive quote’ for any repairs. Otherwise you’re directed to a web page that allows you to ‘search documentation’. If you do that, and type in something along the lines of ‘camera not working’, you’re told to check the driver. I’m way outside my comfort zone here, but we were able to establish that the driver was missing altogether, which apparently is as bad in a computer as it is in a vehicle.
