broken vista after installing other OS

I was having a good time with Ubuntu 9.04 and Vista 64 dual-boot on my XPS 435MT...but I did the "mistake" to try OpenSolaris looking for a better development environment.....

after some struggle I managed to install OpenSolaris (that btw, erased my ubuntu partition; my theory so far, has to do with the max number of primary partitions; I have 3 from the get go, Vista, Recovery and Utility and Ubuntu was the fourth as extended partition)

Long-story short...now the Solaris Grub boot menu shows 4 options, OpenSolaris, and three! (3) Windows partitions that are, I suspect, corresponding to Recovery, Utility and the original Vista partition....I did not expect Recovery or Utility to boot, but neither my vista partition boots.....it seems to want a "recovery" disk....what should I do?

(thought of asking here for the similarities with linux and grub menus)..thanks in advance...
