2 Second Repeating Black Screen on a S2340M Monitor

Question

My S2340M Dell Monitor was purchased in February. Initially, the monitor would go black periodically starting roughly 3-4 weeks ago. It seemed to go black in sets of two for about 2 seconds. I could barely catch it but the monitor did seem to go into an 'auto-adjust' type setting before going black. The Auto-adjust is turned on and I have read that is due to it being connected via DVI. I did read the FAQ regarding DVI connectors and I am curious as to if that is an issue here though I'm not sure this is a Power Save issue. I have it manually set to DVI from Auto-Select in the settings.

Since my initial post on these forums in the wrong section/old thread. The monitor has since started to flicker to a black screen for 2 seconds within every 5 minutes. It does seem to be doing something that looks like an Auto-Adjust before each flicker. To me, it seems like the monitor is doing its own auto-adjust every so often without being prompted.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Especially if someone has found success from a similar issue using a new/different DVI cable. I will update when I get a moment to unplug my computer and verify the cable type.

(Port to Port)* What is the desktop resolution?* Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). The bottom of that screen should show a resolution that matches yours Windows desktop resolution* Go to Other Settings- Factory Reset and Reset All Settings* List your current powersave settings

I'm currently running Windows 8. My Videocard is a ATI Radeon 5770 series. There are dual DVI ports on the graphics card and there is another (Samsung) monitor connect to the card. It is connected via DVI and I have changed the settings on the monitor from Auto-select to strictly DVI. However, it was blinking before I did that change.

The Energy Smart software is off and I have the windows settings to never have the computer go into sleep/screensaver. This has never been an issue in the past with any monitor I've purchased going back well into the CRT days. However, never say never.

As for the resolution, It is set at 1920x1080 at 60hz.

Can you remove the samsung from the Radeon and test the S2340M on both of the Radeon DVI ports as a single/primary monitor?
