2407WFP : no display with DVI
No display using DVI cable.
Works fine using VGA port.
Works fine using VGA cable on the DVI port (with an adapter given with the video card).
My video card is an nVidia 6600 GT with the latest nvidia drivers.
I installed the monitor drivers given on the Dell CD.
When I plug both cables, Windows XP sees correctly 2 monitors, I can configure clone mode, but still no display through the DVI port.
I need to make it work.
I'll change my PC soon (for an HP Pavilion Slimline) and it will have no VGA port, only DVI.
Thanks.
G.

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/2407WFP/en/setup.htm#Connecting%20Your%20Monitor
Turn off your computer and disconnect the power cable.
Connect either the white (digital DVI-D) or the blue (analog VGA) display connector cable to the corresponding video port on the back of your computer. Do not use both cables on the same computer. The only case in which both cables can be used is if they are connected to two different computers with appropriate video systems.
Connect the upstream USB port (cable supplied) to an appropriate USB port on your computer .
Plug the power cables for your computer and monitor into a nearby outlet.
Turn on the monitor and computer.
If your monitor displays an image, installation is complete.

I know that I should not plug the 2 cables (VGA & DVI) on the same monitor, I have read the doc too, but that's what I did because I wanted to compare.
To describe it simply :
it works fine using the VGA cable on the VGA port of the video card.
it works fine using the VGA cable on the DVI port of the video card, with an adapter.
it doesn't work at all using the DVI cable on the DVI port of the video card.
Thanks for your help, guys.

Gwinnix,
Are you toggling the Input Source button on the front of the monitor?
Please post the outcome of any suggestions offered - it will assist others who may have a similar problem and encourage those who spend their time trying to help.

I just had the technical support on the phone.
Normally, I'll receive a new monitor tomorrow and they get the bad one back.
I'll come again to tell you what's next.

I received yesterday my new HP slimline computer and the DVI port & cord work fine with it. So I suppose the problem comes from my old computer and not from my Dell monitor.
A few hours later came someone to replace my monitor. The one he brought was not a new monitor, but a used, repacked one. I could see it from dust and a few scratches on it.
As it wasn't necessary any more to replace the monitor, I kept mine.
As a conclusion, I say that people who have the same problem as I had should try their monitor on another computer.
