3007wfp Video Card Recommendations?
Hello, I am currently using my Dell 3007wfp for business splendidly, but every time I try and run a game, the game never loads properly, any game. I've googled the problem and it seems that my video card can't handle drawing to this size, its a GeForce 7800 gs.
Does anyone know what video cards would best work with this monitor for gaming as well as the ordinary business applications?
System specs
AMD 4400 X2
CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200)
GeForce 7800 gs (using both monitor outputs)
Geforce Fx 5200 PCI vid card
Windows XP

Thanks abunch.

Sorry dustyd, but you still did not list your systems model number.
You have this Desktop enclosure and that is all. The model number should read something like Dell Dim 4550 Inspiron 520 or perhaps XPS 410 or the like

I have a dimention 9200 with that card and a 30" Dell with no problems playing games, i actualy replaced it after a couple of months for a 8800gt card because the store made a mistake in their pc system selling at $199 otherwise i whould not have upgraded and to be honest i realy don't see any difference with the more powerfull card.

Hi dustyd, When i bought it was not a integrated card, it was the same as yours the 7800gs card, what hapened is that i bought the 3007 before changing the card, and them days they were hard to get so i used it for a good 3 weeks with no problems, but the games i played are mostly adventure games(same as myst etc), i don't think they need as mutch as action games.
The graphics were perfect though, i bought an action game after bying the 8800gt to see what it looked like but i still prefer adventure games.

You know I just read on another forum recently people had success while using TWO GeForce 8800's, but I wonder, why two? Wouldn't one be useless (unless you had more monitors)?

Just trying to figure out if you have a AGP slot for a video card or is it PCI-Express so we can offer some suggestions as to another video card.
AGP, than perhaps a 7950 GT AGP slot card will work much better if you have a good power supply. Since you have a 7800 GS card that I had at one time, you probably have a good enough power supply for the 7950 GT card
PCI-Express then, the selection is almost endless depending on the power supply wattage

Hi again,
sr45 is right , if you would have a Dell their power supply is underated, i am using the original 350 psu even if the card ask for bigger.
Dual cards are called sli it is the ultimate in video power, but you can imagine the cost, if you did get the 8800gtx at first for about $700, getting two is more than many pc's.
The 8800gt is almost as powerfull as the 8800gtx but at half the price and you need the same power connection as the 7800gs at the end oif the card.
Also for sli usage you have to have the mother board for it, i priced one at Dell for the top model at over $7,000.
