AW2518H, G-Sync won't turn off

I recently purchased an Alienware AW2518H and its amazing. 240Hz feels amazing. But I can't disable G-Sync and its really irritating to not hit the max FPS my PC can hit. I want to disable it but every time I do, it turns on again. I just turn it off, refresh, then it refresh again back to saying G-Sync is on. I tried googling and going through forums but nothing relevant to my issue. I'm in desperate need of help.

So do NOT turn it off. Just let the power save of the monitor and operating system let the monitor sleep.

* Click my DELL-username and via private message, send me the monitor service tag number, 20 digit serial number, A0x revision number. See the back label

* What PC model?
* What operating system?
* What video card?
* How is the AW2518H connected to the video card using what cable and what ports?
* You must Enable/Disable G-Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel. But explain in detail why you would want to disable G-Sync
* Explain this statement, "its really irritating to not hit the max FPS my PC can hit"

Why are you refreshing multiple times? Just turn G-Sync off, click Apply- OK. Then close the Nvidia Control Panel. It should now be off. Don't refresh.

No. To get any Hz above 60, G-Sync must be on. So turn it off, make sure Windows shows 60Hz.

You are correct, the monitor actually shows the G-Sync through the Nvidia Control Panel. You should be able to simply remove the check from "Enable G-SYNC", then click Apply. The Screen refresh rate should then drop to 60Hz.

* Open the Nvidia Control Panel
* Open Display
* Click Setup G-SYNC
* Remove the check from "Enable G-SYNC"
* Click Apply- OK

Explain, "it still turns on". What are exactly doing from when you turn it off to when it automatically turns on? Are you rebooting the PC?
