C3422WE, KVM option not showing up In DDPM

Hello,

I've got two M1 Macs. One shows the KVM option in MacOS 12 and the other does not. This means I can swap from one Mac to the one without it and not back (without reaching behind the monitor). Software, Firmware are all up to date. One Mac connected via USBC (where it shows KVM) and the other via USBB (where it does not). Where is the KVM option?

To receive assistance from Dell support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private C3422WE Service Tag.

You lost me on this =
the other via USBB (where it does not)

The USB-B upstream port does not have a video signal. It is data only.

The C3422WE has the following video in ports = HDMI, DP, USB-C/DP

The second M1 has to be connected to either HDMI or DP for video.

Hi Chris,

That's exactly the config:

M1 #1 - via PD (USB C)

M1 #2 - via HDMI & USB B

Only the M1 #1 (above) shows the KVM option in DDPM (as per my original screenshot).

Thanks.

Is there something special I need to do in order to get Mac #2 to see the KVM functionality?

Page 92 in the online C3422WE User's Guide. You have to first choose this in the C3422WE Menu- USB- HDMI assign to > USB-B. Then test DDPM.
