Dell 2408WFP Resolution Support
I just got my 2408WFP yesterday and it's a gorgeous monitor at 1920x1200 but I do not have the video card to play games at that resolution at accptible framerates. However, I'd still like to play games in 16:10 resolution but it appears the only supported 16:10 mode is 1920x1200. I have video card scaling turned on so in my head I should be able to pick any resolution I want and the video card will scale it to 1920x1200 on output to the monitor, but everytime I try to set a custom resolution the resolution can not be added.
I'd appreciate any help

I have the same problem as well. Can someone with a non-nVidia card reply?

It's correct that 1920x1200 is the only hardware supported 16:10 resolution for the 2408WFP. But that's the case for quite a few other 24" models from varous manufacturers.
The solution, as mentioned, is easy and lies in the video card drivers and video card resolution scaling.
I use Windows Vista and have all 16:10 resolutions available with the 169.25 WHQL drivers (Using an nVidia 8800 GTS 640Mb). I can have my graphics card scale to any of the 16:10 resolutions.
One of my friends has a 24" Samsung 245B that also only has native 16:10 support at 1920x1200. He could not access the other 16:10 resolutions, using his 8800GTS under Windows XP!
The solution for Windows XP was to download the latest beta video driver for XP. Now all the 16:10 resolutions were available and resolution scaling worked perfectly under XP.
So, try those beta drivers and everything should be fine.
The 2408WFP monitor itself only supports 1920x1200, which is perfectly normal.
