Dell SP2208WFP Monitor Stuck in sleep mode

Hi all,
 
I have just received my new 22" Dell SP220WFP monitor, I have pluged it into the DVI socket of the Inno3D GeForce 8600GTS and all i see is the message entering into power save. 
 
The computer is custom built by myself and is running Windows Vista Home Premium and works with my older BenQ 22" tft screen.  The Dell screen only works via the VGA connector in Safe mode but nothing else.
 
I have already attempted running the DVI Recovery about 6 times but got nowhere!  Any help will be much appreciated otherwise I will be sending the screen straight back!

I have just received my SP2208WFP about 3 hours ago and have exactly the same issue. I have tried absolutely everything to get the monitor working but to no avail. I have been on the phone to technical support for over an hour and they can not solve the issue either. They have advised me that I will get a replacement but may have to wait about a fortnight for the new monitor to arrive. I am well hacked off as I also had to return my XPS 420 on 2 occassions also. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
