Dell U2411H USB with StandBy Mode
Hello,
I'm using the above called Dell Monitor. This is really a very good product with a great panel.
Unfortunately you can't use the USB Slot's if the monitor is in standby-mode (Power Button LED = yellow). I'm using the USB Slots to connect an external hard disk to save my backups. I allways have to change the energy-options in Windows 7 so that the monitor don't went to standby. The monitor have to be switched "on" for several hours to write the backup for e.g.
Is there any opportunity to disconnect the USB connection (USB Hub) to the energy-mode of the monitor?
Thank you very much,
Moritz Kretschmer

Moritz K,

* No. The monitor does not have that ability. The external HDD should be plugged into a rear USB port on the PC, not the monitor. In fact, I would not use the monitor USB ports for any mice or keyboards either. They should only be used for copying files when the monitor is on. You should not leave devices plugged into the monitor USB ports when you restart the PC.
