Dell U3011 Monitor repair

Hi,

I have just managed to knock over my dell screen and crack the LCD. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy either the LCD screen separately or send it to dell for repair? I have googled around but not found anything

Just went through similar problems with my U3011. If your monitor is out of warranty, you are out of luck. Dell does not repair monitors. During warranty period they exchange it for refubrished model. Once warranty expires you are on your own.


You can:

  • Try to find broken monitor with good LCD and replace it yourself, or pay someone to do it for you (that someone is not Dell)
  • Find shop that already has broken monitor with good LCD and ask them to replace your LCD
  • Buy new monitor (Dell will suggest this and transfer you to their sales department)
    • See if you can sell your for parts to recuperate some cost

I was lucky that I still had another month to go on credit card extended warranty, and after grueling process they paid full amount. Problem is to find something similar at that price point. Sad to say, Dell U3014, when on sale is almost only contender in this price range.
