DisplayPort Dual Monitor Setup. Issues when coming out of sleep mode
-Dell U2414HB Monitor
-20 digit S/N number: CN-0R9F1P-74261-43P-8HYL
-Revision Number: A01
(This is monitor that is currently having the issue, I have had this issue on different computers with different monitors of the same exact model)
-Dell Precision T5610 running Windows 7 64-Bit
-AMD FirePro W7000 (FireGL V) with 4 DisplayPort out ports
- Currently using the 1st and 2nd DP out ports to the the Mini DP ports on the monitor using the Dell suppliled cables (Although I've tried all 4 ports, and tested other cables, with no success)
- I've gone through the manual, reset the monitor to factory defaults, and ran the self diagnostic test as requested prior to posting this.
- Issue: After waking the computer from sleep mode, only the main display will turn back on. The second monitor will stay in power save mode. I can revive the monitor by unplugging/re-plugging into the power supply. Monitor comes on but with a resolution of 800x600. The drop down to adjust the resolution is grayed out. I have to reboot the computer in order to get the monitor to come back on and get the resolution options.
In addition to reseting the factory defaults, I've also updated the BIOS on the computer, reinstalled the video card and the correct drivers.
Thank you for your time.

I have the same problem with my surface pro 3 with 2 of the U2414HB. I had to turn of any sort of sleep or display off after settings just to avoid the problem. Something happens on these monitors when windows decides to use its software power saving. I tried all combinations of troubleshooting, so I am 99% its something on the monitor firmware side.
If you or anyone know how to fix it please let me know :-)
Many thanks!

@kevbehnke - I wish I could offer a fix but all I can say is that I've been experiencing exactly the same issue (just wasted about 15 mins this evening trying to get both monitors to be detected - even after unplugging and rebooting PC).
My concern was that I couldn't tell if it was the monitors or the Surface Pro 3 as I had no means to try the same DisplayPort 1.2 daisy-chain configuration with any other equipment.
Given the posts relating to these monitors having issues when resuming from sleep then I'm inclined to believe they, rather than the Surface Pro 3, are at fault.
This thread http://commweb-ps3.us.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19610314 is at least providing some insight that there are some known issues as commented by @DELL-Chris M.

Its the monitors and until they fix it via firmware update they will not work well.
I noticed if you unplug the power from the wall on the monitor wait about 10 seconds then plug it back in 9-10 times it will start to work again.
Its frustrating because I don't want to go threw the process of returning them.
I am going to use a HDMI to mini display in a few to see if it is the same.
On another note the Daisy chain does work for the most part and does not create anymore issues when you already have. You need to enable the DisplayPort1.2 setting on the monitor. I have it plugged into the dock only so can just set it in and go.
I will let you know if I find anything.

Well my issue has been specifically those monitors on T5610's using the FirePro video card. I can set them up in a dual monitor orientation on any docking station with no issue at all.
