E207WFPc Power cord/ AC adapter

I lost my power cord with the AC adapter on it for my E207WFPc 22'' monitor. I contacted dell support and finally got to talk to someone to replace the part, the woman must have not understood my very clear description and sent me a laptop charger power cord and AC adapter. Now the part the is permenatly attached to the AC adapter box won't fit in my monitor. Now the question:

The straight power cord (no AC adapter attached) will go from my monitor to the socket in the wall and the monitor will work. Will this harm my monitor in the long or short run? Again its just the power cord (no AC adapter box on it) that is running straight from my monitor to the wall.

Are you sure that the monitor had an external power adapter? Most don't.

The manual shows an AC mains power connector:

I think you may be confusing a interference filter with a power adapter. You do not need a special power cord. The computer power cable will be fine
