NEW 2405FPW doesn't work in DOS mode using DVI connector
Hello, i just received a spectacular 2405FPW Dell LCD monitor today. Hooked it up with the DVI connector from my ATI All-in Wonder Radeon 32MB 7200 AGP. However, when i boot my PC, the monitor doesn't work until the driver is loaded. Thing is i have a boot manager and i also sometimes need to go in DOS mode but there is no way it will work with the DVI connector. When i switch to the regular blue analog connector, then it works in DOS mode, but when Windows is loaded, the image is not as good. The back of my computer is hard to reach and i don't really want to switch the connectors everytime i need to go in dos mode. Anyone have an idea???
Thanks
Phil
PS... here is my setup :
A7V333 Motherboard, Via chipset
Athlon XP2800 266FSB with 1.5 GIG of RAM
Windows XP Professionnal with SP1
Latest DELL and ATI DRIVERS
Thanks
Phil

ie. DVI & DVI with VGA adaptor or DVI & VGA?
If so then connect both cables to the monitor and use the input select on the monitor so you can go to VGA when you need it and setup windows for clone mode not extended desktop.
My 2407WFP shows the bios and SATA controller screens, no probs with DVI.
I believe some older video cards had these sort of issues with DVI and a 7200 is quite old and was one of the first around with DVI.
You probably also have onscreen corruption with DVI in Windows if you are running at native resolution.
I know I had problem with DVI with a 9800 Pro AIW, you could probably solve this by playing with ATI's control panel options or switch the monitor on and off once windows starts. Or you could just use VGA.
Really with this monitor I would recommend a video card upgrade, considering its high resolution.
