New 2001FP very different from older one
I recently bought a second 2001FP. I already have one; the original was purchased sometime in the second half of 2004.
This new screen is very different from the original. The colors are completely different and the Zoom functionality does not work. On my original screen, I could zoom in and have it magnify small areas of the screen very well. The new screen has barely any zoom.
My original screen was built in June 2004. This new one is February 2006. Both say they are Revision A00, although I cannot believe they are the same displays.
When I look at the factory from the OSD, I have "Factory 1.71" for the old monitor, and "SAM V 1.0" for my new one.
Is there some way I could get a working zoom on my new screen? Or will I have a monitor that has no working zoom and different colors from my original?
Thanks in advance.

If you use Windows, there are some softwares which allow you to zoom in/out. Also I think nvidia's driver has a zoom function. I don't have any ati cards, but they might have one.

Dell 2001FP = 20.1 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM201U04) panel.
Dell 2001FP ver2 = 20.1 inch 16 ms S-IPS (LG.Philips LM201U04-SL02) panel.
Dell 2001FP ver3 = 20.1 inch 12 ms (g2g) S-PVA (Samsung LTM201U1-L01) panel.
Since your latest one has SAM in the string, that probably indicates Samsung panel.
Set them in clone mode and display something dark but with some detail. I if you look head on with the samsung (PVA) the darkness gets darker and can hide detail, if you move off the the side a bit, it lightens up.
The IPS screen (older one) should not do this as much, but if you have a mostly black screen and look at it from an extreme angle the black should get a bit of a purple tone.
Here is a test pattern to check for the tone shifts. Pay particular attention to the 5% to 30% range as you move your head into and out of line with them. Also the screen is most black, so you can check for the far off axis purple tone.
