New 2007WFP questions/concerns..Grainy text?
Hi I very recently received my 2007WFP monitor. It seems pretty high quality overall but I have some questions/concerns about image quality. 1. Text appears a bit grainy to me. Especially black text on white background.. I am comparing this to the uwxga screen on my older Dell 9100 laptop, which is amazingly clear- you would not know you are looking at an lcd screen...with the 2007wfp, however, there is no question you are looking at an lcd panel. I guess I expected the 2007wfp to be as awesome as my dell 9100's lcd screen.. I am running at the highest resolution of my onboard video. So I am wondering: a. Do all wide screen LCD's appear a bit grainy? (this is my first one and I chose it based on reviews) b. would switching to the DVI input help? I am running analog c. could a different graphics card affect text output, or is this a limitation of the monitor itself? 2. This may be the wrong question to post this - but during the boot sequence and up through windows starting up, I get a flashing image of an analog video connector in the upper left hand corner of the screen. I can't figure out what this is about. It did not start until I had temporarily put in (and have since removed) another graphics card. Of the above, the most pressing issue is the graininess. I hate to try to deal with trying other monitors/replacing the Dell, but I'm also not sure I can spend all day looking at this text either... Thanks! Michael

ClearType, unfortunately, can cause as many problems as it fixes and some monitors are just happier without it stirring in the stew.
