P2419HC, no HDMI signal from your device

Question

Hi,

I tried to connect my laptop to monitor by HDMI, but it says no HDMI signal. The cable works fine on another monitor, but not on Dell's. I have also done the self test and diagnostic testing, not an issue as cable-c works fine.

Can you please help how to fix this?

@AdelaStyles  you say that 'cable-c' works fine.  Does that mean you're using a USB-C to HDMI cable?  If so, can you confirm that you're plugging the USB-C side into the laptop and the HDMI side into the display?  That type of cable won't work in the opposite direction.  Also, have you confirmed that your laptop supports video output from its USB-C port?  That is an optional capability on USB-C ports, and not all laptops with USB-C ports support that.

What I meant was cable c to cable c. I am not trying to connect cable c, I just tested if it works on other output. I need to connect HDMI.

* List all of the video out ports on the laptop
* Based on the online P2419HC User's Guide pages 30/31, explain exactly how you are trying to connect using which ports and cable on both the laptop and the P2419HC

I am using the Samsung laptop which has micro HDMI and mini VGA.   I am connecting micro HDMI from laptop to HDMI on monitor.  As I have said, it has been working perfectly well on another monitor when trying this way.   I don't think it is an issue to use micro HDMI gender to connect HDMI. Can you advise how to fix the issue? Does Dell monitor not support micro HDMI gender?

* What specific mHDMI to HDMI cable are you testing?* Is there another PC there with full sized HDMI out port to test a standard HDMI to HDMI cable to the P2419HC HDMI in port?
