P2719HC, no DP signal message

I have this monitor hooked up to a Lenovo laptop, thru a docking station, via DP.

When not it use, i like to turn off the monitor power. Problem is, when i turn the power back on, it does not activate the DP source. Maybe there is just no signal coming from the laptop at the time?  This is a work laptop, and i cant just start hitting keys or I could get locked out.

So how do i force the monitor the turn on the DP source and show it? Thanks.

@cupojo  There are some innocuous keys you can tap to wake up a system, such as the Ctrl, Windows, and Caps Lock keys.  Those keys by themselves don't do anything on the lock screen if you're worried about a bad password causing a lockout, and they almost never do anything within applications when pressed on their own.  But Windows does have a "Turn off the display after" setting that will cause the system to put the display(s) into standby when the system is idle.  And on Windows 10 (and maybe some earlier versions?) if you lock your session, then Windows puts the display(s) into standby after 1 minute.  So yes it's possible that your laptop isn't sending a signal to your display when you turn it back on.  But given that the PC will put the display to sleep anyway, you might want to consider not powering it off manually in the first place.  The P2719HC User's Guide here indicates that it only consumes 0.3 W in standby mode.  Using my local electricity rate of 11.68 cents per kWh, that level of power consumption works out to 31 cents per year.
