I'm also looking for the same setup (P2720DC + P2720D), but didn't get a confirmation if this combo will work.
The idea is to connect Lenovo Thinkpad T490s (or the upcoming T14s) via USB-C -> USB-C cable to P2720DC and to chain the P2720D via DisplayPort. Also, it would be nice to power the laptop via the same USB-C, but that is not mandatory.
If you figured out something in a meanwhile, I would be very appreciate if you share your findings.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the feedback. If the laptop requires > 65W, will the daisy chain setup above still work (with display and USB data connection for keyboard/mouse etc), except the power delivery to the laptop? Or the whole setup will NOT work? Thanks.

In that case you would need to also plug the AC power adapter into the Laptop.

@ivans88 and @Ron Posting yes a daisy chain setup with these displays will work, but you might want to take a look at the post I just wrote about this setup in this very similar thread.

It is confirmed that if the Laptop only requires 45 W or 65 W power, you can do this setup =
Laptop TB/USB Type-C out port --> P2720DC USB Type-C to C cable --> P2720DC USB Type-C in port (Menu- Display- MST On)
P2720DC DP out port --> P2720DC DP to DP cable --> Second monitor DP in port
