P3421W, flickering, #3

My Dell P3421W monitor flickers when connected to both my Surface Laptop 3 and MacBook Pro.

I have tried connecting via USB-C and HDMI but the result is the same. It is especially noticeable at low brightness (<50%). I’ve updated the firmware but that hasn’t fixed it.

Looks like I’m not the only one to report this issue which makes me think it’s not isolated to just my unit. Has anyone had any luck fixing?

I’ve tried the above but unfortunately it hasn’t helped. Factory resetting reduces the flicker a bit, but I believe that’s only because it’s less noticeable in general at higher brightness. Once brightness is reduced you can see the flicker again.

I’ve already updated to M2B102. The issue was also present on the original firmware that came pre-installed when I purchased.

* Open the P3421W Menu- Others and choose Factory Reset (online P3421W User's Guide page 54). This will reset all including returning Brightness and Contrast back to the manufacturer 75%

* Any changes to Brightness or Contrast should then be done in the operating system GPU Control Panel, NOT in the P3421W Menu. So make a Brightness change in the operating system GPU Control Panel and see if the flickering issue returns

* Open the Menu- Others
* Check the Firmware version
* If the firmware version is older than M2B205, than go to the P3421W driver page and install the Windows only firmware M2B205
* Do NOT install M2B205 if you already have a newer version! If you install an older firmware, you cannot go back to the newer firmware
