PC won't output to BNC ?

Question

Hi guys I have a new Dell 9100 that I hooked up to my Sony G500 21' monitor which has a VGA input as well as 5 BNC inputs. VGA works fine but I ordered a VGA to 5 BNC cable, which doesn't work when I hook it up. The monitor says no signal, however in ATI control panel it shows the monitor as being connected. I hooked up my TV as a second monitor to fiddle with the settings but I can't get it to work.   Does anyone know how to make this work?   I know theres a lot of debate over whether or not you can even see any difference with BNC cables, but since I already paid for them, I might as well try and make it work.   If you want the monitor specs they are easy to find with a quick google for Sony G500.

No offence really but the last time I saw BNC used must have been like 8-10 years ago.

And you got to realize that even if BNC is better (due to higher gauge wire) it still comes out first as VGA and then BNC. If it was pure BNC from videocard to monitor that might be reasonble, or if BNC was the only input on the monitor. Don't waste your time if your monitor has a VGA input, you won't get any benefits from BNC.

The last time you saw BNC was 8-10 years ago? I don't think your lack of experience with professional grade equipment has any bearing on his problem.

I would look into swapping your H and V cable. Easy to get mixed up and will give you a black screen
