S2415H, Want to disable Power Save Mode?
I am driving a Dell S2415H through HDMI from an embedded device that I'm debugging. Everything works great when my device is turned on and connected. But when I turn off or disconnect the device, the monitor goes into Power Save Mode. That causes me to miss early firmware/POST/boot messages when I turn the device back on, which is a critical problem in my case.
The manual describes this behavior but suggests no way of disabling it. The OSD likewise gives me no way to disable this energy saving "feature". Does anybody know how I can disable the automatic Power Save Mode?

That is hard coded into the monitor hardware. We cannot change it.

Understood, and thanks for the reply. Is there some way to funnel wish list items to Dell? I would love to see a Power Save Mode disable option added to your OSD in the future. Should be pretty easy for your engineers to add to the OSD Energy settings.

Is there any update about adding ability to adjust the power save features in the OSD for the Dell S2415H? I too, along with many others need to have this feature available.

Unfortunately, for this model no. It is on the table for discussion on newer, unreleased models only.

I was having an issue with this: my Dell monitor was turning off after 30 seconds or so and then also putting my HP laptop into sleep mode, which was supremely annoying, as I was having to log back into my computer after 30 seconds of inactivity. I managed to find what appears to be a temporary fix. If you go into the settings of the Dell monitor by using the buttons on the monitor, switch the "input" from "auto" to the specific input you're using - in my case I switched it from "auto" to "HDMI" - and that stopped my Dell monitor from entering power save mode and also putting my laptop to sleep. I tested it by timing and it didn't time out and turn everything off even after 5-10 minutes. So it appears to be a win.
