S2417DG, BurnIn mode, random colors #4, back on after power off?

I recently bought the Dell S2417DG, and while I like the monitor itself, for some reason the screen flashes R/G/B/W when my PC is off and nothing is showing. I looked into it and discovered it's the Burn-In Pattern I somehow accessed from the factory menu. Unchecking the box works for one turn off before this pattern restarts. How do I permanently fix this issue?

Thanks.

The full screen red, green, blue, etc.means that the BurnIn mode has been turned on in the internal FSM (Factory Service Menu).

Dell policy concerning FSM
The monitor internal FSM is only used by our monitor manufacturer service center. Dell Technical Support cannot assist you with the FSM. If you break the monitor by making some other change in the FSM, the purchased warranty is voided.

Knowing the risk, if you decide to enter the FSM, remove the check from BurnIn. Then exit the FSM. A full power off may turn BurnIn back on. Or get a used/refurbished exchange if still inside the purchased warranty period.

Did you purchase this S2417DG directly from Dell?
What is the 20 digit serial number and A0x revision?
The internal only Factory Service menu is not listed in the online User's Guide, so why were you in there in the first place?

First, contact Amazon and ask them what their "like for like" exchange policy will be.

I bought it from Amazon. I can get the number and order number later if needed. I don't know how I got into that menu. One day it just started flashing and I looked into the issue, clicking the button next to the power button brought up the factory menu. Don't know how I got it to do that.

Harm, that's kind of annoying. Does the Burn-In Pattern reduce the lifespan or anything of the monitor?

Correct.

Amazon is out of stock and cannot do an exchange and told me to speak to Dell about this issue. How would I go about getting proper numbers to set up an exchange with Dell for a new monitor, and if it's able to be done? Thanks.

Okay, guess I'll return it to Amazon. Thank you.

I would have to return it and get a new one. Is that the only solution?

Nope. We use it at the factory for testing.

So keeping it won't mess anything up? Nothing I can do to revert it though? May as well just keep it then.
