S2417DG, HDMI 1.4, cannot display over 60Hz?
I have a Dell S2417DG monitor connected to a Acer Nitro i5 laptop. Problem is the laptop doesn’t have a DisplayPort. But I do have a high speed HDMI that can display over 60Hz on my friends monitor. Is there any way I can display over 60Hz with this S2417DG?

That is a S2417DG manufacturer design limitation. HDMI 1.4 can only do 60Hz. The DP 1.2 can do the following 2560x1440 Hz = 60/85/100/120/144/160/165. See the online S2417DG User's Guide pages 12 and 13 =
