S2417DG, random disconnect with USB ports

I often have either portable hard drives plugged in to the two USB 3.0 ports on my Dell S2417DG, or a mouse/keyboard combo. Randomly, I will see both devices turn off and turn back on, as if they are losing power for a bit and then are reconnecting. I am always actively using the computer. Is there anything I can do about this? Kills any file transfers I am doing and is a general inconvenience.

The S2417DG has to be "active on" for USB peripherals attached to its USB downstream ports to function. Page 19 of the User's Guide =

So if you allow the S2417DG to enter any power save mode, those attached USB devices will lose connection. The question is are you allowing the computer to enter some power save mode which in turn kicks on the S2417DG power save mode?

You should be testing both the side USB 3.0 ports and the bottom USB 3.0 ports. I would also test every USB 3.0 port on the computer with the S2417DG USB upstream cable.

Hi Chris,

I'm having the same issues when I'm actively playing a game and tested all 4 USB ports to no avail. Are there any solutions?

Thanks,
Johnny

First, list all of the hardware and cabling attached to the S2417DG.
