S2419HGF, unsupported audio format, set to PCM

Hello all. I am at my wit's end with this issue. I have scoured the internet and have not found a single solution. I use my PC primarily for gaming and frequently get a black screen, followed by the error message that won't go away - unsupported audio format, set to pulse code modulation (PCM). Of course, there is no pulse code modulation setting. I have tried virtually everything with no solutions.

I have seen a solution for NVIDIA graphics cards. But I have an AMD Radeon RX480. There is no "set up digital audio". I have disabled the AMD card audio in the device manager. No luck. All drivers are up to date - still the issue persists. Has anyone been able to solve this issue? I am surprised that Dell monitors are just fundamentally incompatible with AMD graphics cards and I refuse to believe there is no solution. Both Dell and AMD customer service have been unhelpful. Dell did offer to take a closer look...for over $100. But again, why should I have to pay that, after paying for the monitor, to get it to work?

Sorry for the slight rant but this has just been unendingly frustrating. Any advice/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can provide any additional information that would be helpful.

I solved this issue, hopefully this will save someone else a headache further down the line. The HDMI port was the culprit. I switched to a DP connection and the issue went away.
