S2719DGF, Unsupported audio format, set to pulse code modulation PCM
I have a Dell S2719DGF gaming monitor and sometimes when I am gaming or just browsing the internet, my screen goes black for about 3 seconds and comes back. This is really bad when I gaming especially (you can imagine why). When the screen comes back, a message pops up saying,
"Unsupported audio format. Please set the audio output on your audio player to Pulse-code modulation (PCM) if available."
Sometimes my screen goes black so many times, it's unplayable. And sometimes it won't happen for 2 days. If anyone could please get back to me that would be awesome!
Also, I don't have an NVIDIA graphics card so I can't look in the NVIDIA control panel.

I have the same problem (different monitor, different video card) with my S2719DGF gaming monitor. But I have an AMD graphics card. Does anyone know how to fix?
My components are =
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: AMD RX 580
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk
MEMORY: DDR4 16GB
SSD: Samsung EVO 1TB

* Based on the other Nvidia thread, the issue is with how the video card audio is communicating with the monitor audio via HDMI. Could there be a similar audio setting in the AMD Catalyst Control Center. Maybe something in their AMD Audio Configuration and Setup FAQ will help?
* Have you tried connecting via DP to DP cable to see if the issue shows up? Be sure to set the Windows 10- Settings- Sound- output device to S2719DGF (DP)
AMD RX 580 DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> S2719DGF DP in port
* Have you installed the latest AMD Catalyst video card drivers and the latest chipset driver for that MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard?
* Do you have powered external speakers connected to the S2719DGF Audio line out port? If yes, connect them directly to the PC audio out jack. Then change the Windows 10- Settings- Sound- output device back to the PC audio. Then retest. Does the error stop?
