S2721DGF, doesn't show pre-Windows boot screens
Hey there. Love my S2721DGF Monitor. One issue I had from day one is the monitor will not detect a signal from my computer (display port) until the computer has booted into Windows. This means if I want to do anything pre-OS bootup, such as go into the Bios settings, the display will not turn on. After finding a previous post here with the same issue, I ran Nvidia's DisplayPort Firmware updater for my older GPU (Geforce 980 ti), and the update went fine, but did not solve the issue. I wonder if there is any workaround. I suspect when my new computer/GPU comes in a week or two, the issue will resolve itself, but not totally sure.
Since I'm already talking about the S2721DGF, a couple more inquiries about this monitor:
Can I have more than one "Custom" preset? I like to have one Preset with brightness way low for night time use. I see there are other presets, but only one Custom preset option, so at night I've just been manually turning brightness down, but if I could quickly switch between presets, that would be handier. I can try Dell Display Manager if not.
When the computer is off, the Power LED button slowly transitions from ON and OFF (some call it LED breathing), which is pretty annoying if the monitor is in your bedroom. Is there any way to disable that? I was only able to disable the backside LED light. If not, I'll just continue to turn the monitor off when I turn my computer off I suppose, or maye stick a lil piece of black electrical tape to cover up the light.
