S2722DZ, macOS Webcam not detected anymore
The webcam used to work on macOS. Then it stopped working. Running macOS 12.6. Updated the monitor firmware to M3T103. Using a USB C to USB C cable. The sound and the monitor work, but the webcam is no longer detected.
I have gone through all troubleshooting (turned off, disconnect, restart, etc). Nothing. The answer I received from the support agent was =
"I would request you to please check the webcam functionality of the monitor by connecting it to the Windows system and let us know. As per our logs, it seems to be a compatibility issue with the Apple Mac M1 chipset devices. "Hence, we request you to check it with a Windows system and share a video with us to check if it is a hardware or compatibility issue."
Quite unacceptable "solution". I don't understand this. If it works with Windows, what do I do? If it doesn't work, what do I do? It doesn't solve the issue. Then specify that the monitor doesn't work with Mac and I wouldn't have purchased it. Never buying Dell again.

The response given by Dell support agent is in line with Dell policy.
For Dell agents to act, you need to connect the S2722DZ to a PC running the supported Windows OS. Dell agents will then troubleshoot to confirm if the S2722DZ is functional.
* Open, "Dell monitor, Apple FAQ"
None of the Dell D, E, G, P, S, SE, Alienware monitors have full macOS support from Dell. As a consideration to macOS users, on some of these monitors we did provide a macOS firmware update.
The Dell S2722DZ sales site pictures show the S2722DZ connected to a Dell laptop running Windows OS.
It also shows Accessories which are only compatible with Windows OS =
Dell KM7321W keyboard and mouse
Dell WL5022 wireless headset
The fact the S2722DZ webcam functioned in the non-supported macOS version prior to you updating to macOS 12.6 means that Apple changed something to break the communication to the webcam. You can try rolling back from macOS 12.6 to the previous working version.
Report the issue to Apple on their Apple Forums and ask Apple what change they made to macOS 12.6 to break the communication to the webcam.
