SE2419HX, turn off PSM?

I'm on my second Dell SE2419HX. I'm told it's just a repackaged Dell SE2419H. So is there some way to completely turn off PSM (Power Save Mode)? Note, not preventing the monitor from turning off, just turning turn off PSM, these are different things!

The SE2419H/SE2419HX/SE2719H/SE2719HX Menu does not offer any PSM (Power Save Mode) setting. If the monitor does not receive a video signal from the PC, it will automatically show the onscreen message =

No VGA or HDMI cable
The display will go into Power Save Mode in 4 minutes.

All power management control must come from within the operating system.

You are not making yourself clear.

  • Want the display to be turned on indefinitely?
    • Enable a "never turn monitor off" and "never sleep" setting on your PC. This is OS-dependent.
  • Want the display to turn off completely instead of going into Power Save Mode (PSM = panel off, standby LED on, ready to turn on when signal is restored)?
    • You'll need to turn it off manually with the Power button or unplug its mains cable. This saves approximately 0.05 W, or about 1 Wh every day, which costs a negligible amount.
  • Want the display to enter PSM immediately, not after 4 minutes?
    • As the panel uses around 20 W when the message is displayed, it will consume more than 1 Wh during this timer, which adds up if you sleep/power down your PC a lot. Either turn it off every time instead or follow this guide.
