SE2717H, AMD onboard GPU, input timing is not supported
Hi there.
So I have built a PC recently, and I got a SE2717H to go with it. The PC uses a Ryzen 3 2200G CPU. I tried to boot it up, but it said that the input timing needed to be set to 1920x1080 60Hz. I tried using a VGA cable, but that did not work either. Only once was I able to get a boot, and I did not have a flash drive with widows handy. I got one and when I plugged the monitor back in, it did not work. I would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks!

SE2717H video in ports = VGA/HDMI
SE2717H maximum resolution = 1920x1080 60Hz
SE2717H cables = VGA to VGA
* Send me the SE2717H service tag number via Private Message
* Are you saying that this PC does not have an added video card? That it is using the motherboard onboard video out ports.
* What operating system is currently installed?

The pc does not have a gpu so i am using the motherboard hdmi and vga ports. I do not have an os installed as i have just made the pc

OK. And you only have a single video cable connecting from the SE2717H to the PC? Is there another PC there to test the SE2717H on? Or another monitor to test on the PC?

There is one cable and i have tested the SE2717 with other computer and it works

I have also tested the pc with a tv monitor and it does boot successfully and now has windows installed.

I have this same issue.
This monitor does not work on my setup with the AMD Ryzen 2200G with Radeon Vega 8 onboard graphics until Windows has those drivers installed. I had to switch to a different monitor to install the drivers in Windows.
However, I still have an issue: since those drivers are not loaded until Windows is launched (past the blue Windows logo), I cannot see the BIOS screenand I only see the "input timing is not supported" until Windows 10 has launched to the login stage.
I really need to see the BIOS. If you have any support suggestions, let me know. Otherwise, I should get this monitor replaced.

In my opinion, getting it replaced/exchanged won't help. Two different AMD Ryzen systems show the same issue with this monitor model and the AMD onboard GPU. If inside 30 days from the Dell purchase date, you may return it for credit. After 30 days, you may only get a like for like monitor model exchange. You should also post on the AMD forum and see what other AMD users say about the issue.

I too am having that same timing issue on my se2717h while trying to use my 2200g.

Dell is not going to buy and test on the retail AMD desktops.
We did test on our only consumer AMD Ryzen Inspiron 5675 desktop which has the Promontory X370 PROM4 chipset and a 7th Generation AMD A12-9800 with Radeon graphics. We removed the AMD Radeon RX 580 discrete video card and connected in this way =
AMD Ryzen Inspiron 5675 desktop HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> SE2717H HDMI in port
We could see the POST screens and boot into the BIOS. My advice, forget the retail AMD onboard graphics and install a discrete PCIe x16 video card. Or report the issue to AMD as I stated above.
