SE2717H, RX 5700 XT, input timing not supported

Hi,

I recently built a computer with a Radeon RX 5700 XT, and I am using it with my Dell SE2717H.

When I boot the computer, I get a message that says:

"The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920×1080, 60Hz or any other monitor listed timings as per the monitor specification."

This is not a big deal in regular operation since the SE2717H works once Windows boots.

The problem is if I want to enter the UEFI settings, where this does not work, and I can't change the BIOS settings.

I tried updating the drivers of the SE2717H, the graphics card, and fixing the settings to 60Hz in the display setting in Windows.

In summary, the SE2717H works only after booting Windows, not before. Therefore, I can't access the UEFI. I believe this is a problem of the SE2717H since I tried it with my TV's HDMI port and it works perfectly.

I would appreciate any suggestion about how to solve this.

Thanks!

panchopaz,

Page 13 shows us that the optimal SE2717H HDMI Windows Hz is 75. The optimal SE2717H VGA Windows Hz is 60. You have proven that your PC's pre-Windows BIOS can only see 60Hz by testing it with the TV. So yes, you will need to use an HDMI to VGA cable or converter to see your PC's pre-Windows BIOS.

The SE2717H HDMI resolution is 1920x1080 75Hz (page 13). The TV is most likely 1920x1080 60Hz. If you need to see the pre-Windows BIOS, disconnect the HDMI cable and use the VGA cable to get 1920x1080 60Hz.

Hi monitortech,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I do not understand the suggestion.

Here are the things I don't understand:

1) page 13 in the user manual says the maximum resolution is 1080p at 75Hz, not that it does not work with 60Hz (I set the frequency to 60Hz in the AMD Radeon Settings app and the monitor works).

2) I understand you are suggesting I use the VGA input on the monitor, however, my computer does not have a VGA port (only 4 DP and 2 HDMI), so that would not work in principle. Are you suggesting I get an HDMI to VGA adapter?

Thank you!
