SE2722H, not working with S2722DC

Hello - I have been successfully using my S2722DC (monitor with inbuilt dock) for sometime. I would like to add a second monitor to the set up and have purchased a SE2722H. I cannot get the second monitor to be connected or recognized. I am using HDMI cord to connect between monitors. SE2722H works fine with laptop independently to S2722DC, so no issue with cords or the new monitor. I am just not sure how to add and use both? Plugging in the HDMI from the SE2722H directly to the laptop overrides the USB-C cord connecting laptop the S2722DC. I've no idea where to go from here? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you - for the configuration you suggested above, the message on SE2722H was that the HDMI cord could not be found.

However! I plugged the HDMI directly into the HP Elitebook and it has worked!  Now set up and extended across all displays.

Thank you so much for your assistance.  I almost gave up and returned the perfectly fine monitor.

There is the problem =
I am using HDMI cord to connect between monitors.

The S2722DC USB-C, HDMI 1, HDMI 2 ports are video signal IN only. They do not send a video signal OUT.

The SE2722H HDMI and VGA ports are also video signal IN only.

Plugging in the HDMI from the SE2722H directly to the laptop overrides the USB-C cord connecting laptop the S2722DC.
* That doesn't make sense. What laptop model? What operating system? You should be able to setup like this =

Laptop USB-C out port --> S2722DC USB-C to USB-C cable --> S2722DC USB-C in port
Laptop HDMI out port --> SE2722H HDMI to HDMI cable --> SE2722H HDMI 1 or 2 in port

Then in the Windows Display settings set the S2722DC as Primary display and the SE2722H as Secondary display.

HP EliteBook 840 G7 left to right = #1 USB-C #2 USB-C #3 HDMI #4 Power

Capture.JPG

* Turn all three devices off
* Plug the provided AC power adapter into HP EliteBook 840 G7 #4 Power
* HP EliteBook 840 G7 #1 USB-C out port --> S2722DC USB-C to USB-C cable --> S2722DC USB-C in port
* HP EliteBook 840 G7 #3 HDMI out port --> SE2722H HDMI to HDMI cable --> SE2722H HDMI 1 or 2 in port
* Turn the S2722DC and SE2722H on
* Turn the HP EliteBook 840 G7 on and then close the lid

What do you then see on both monitors?
