ST2420L won't use full screen

My ST2420L has about a 1" border all around the display area. Is there a way to get it to use the full screen? I thought this was normal until i bought an Acer for a second monitor last week and it uses the whole screen.

Test using the DVI from the video card to the DVI on the monitor. Does it fill the screen?

What video card is installed the PC? What ports are you using on the video card to the monitor?

* Press the monitor OSD Menu button
* Go to Display Settings and choose Auto Adjust. Did it fix it?

If not, go back to Display Settings- Wide Mode and set it to Fill

The suggested solutions did not change anything. The video card is an ATI Radeon HD 5670

Yes, DVI fills the screen. Thanks.
