Screen randomly dims and brightens and dims again on Dell U2311H monitor
The screen randomly dims and brightens and dims again, with consistent indoor lighting. As far as I know, there is no ambient lighting sensors in this monitor advertised as a feature, and even if it were, the randomness of the dimming pattern in unchanging ambient lighting is not the correct behavior.
To most people, this dimming is rather subtle. Has anyone else seen this issue? Is my monitor defective?

Using what monitor port? Test all three (VGA, DVI, DisplayPort). Same issue on all? Can you post a youtube video of the issue?

Whoops, was having issues with my forum account. I was using DVI and DVI with a DVI-HDMI adapter on the computer's port end. In both situations, I saw the issue (both in OS X and Windows 7). However, I haven't seen the issue in the past few days, so I'm still monitoring the monitor to see if the issue arises again. I'll link a YouTube upload if I can capture it on video.

This was a difficult shot to capture because I can't predict when it happens. But here's an uploaded YouTube clip of the issue:

Brightens (after dimming off video) at 0:19, and again at 0:32 and flickers between yellowish and normal until 0:41. It's been like this out of the box.

Any resolution? Mine does the same thing Dell 702X (XPS 17 with 1920x1080 screen).
