U2212HM, not working with DP to HDMI cable?
I stuck with a problem that I cannot connect my monitor with DP -> HDMI cable it always goes to power save mode. But if I use DP -> miniDP cable everything works fine. I tried two cables(from different brands) but no signal at all. I'm already walked thru this community and tried recipes which suggested to turn off monitor and hold a power button but it does not work for me. I also noticed that if I disconnect input cable it shows that will go to power save in 5 minutes but if I connect my laptop with a cable it goes to power save mode immediately. Please somebody help me :) I believe that solution exists.

A computer HDMI out port cannot upconvert to a monitor DP/mDP in via a straight cable.

* Open, FAQ Monitor
* Open, "Computer VGA/DVI/HDMI out to Monitor DP/mDP in"

The U2212HM has the following video IN ports = DP/DVI/VGA
What specific Laptop model? List all of the video OUT ports on the laptop.

Than it means that I have to stick to DVI -> HDMI connection, am I right?
