U2414H, dual, one PC HDMI out port?

Hello,

I bought two of Dell Ultrasharp U2414H and tried a Daisy Chain. But it works only with DisplayPort. Is there any possibility to use two monitors with my single HDMI laptop port? Thank you in advance!

Kind Regards!

HDMI cannot be used as the daisy chain source or anywhere in the mix, thus, dual monitor is not possible using the laptop HDMI out port. You can see from the U2414H User's Guide page 25 that the daisy chain DP MST (Multi-Stream Transport) source is DP out from the PC. What specific laptop model?

Have you considered using a docking station with your laptop?  Not sure about HP, perhaps you can buy one with two compatible ports (e.g. two DPs, or a DP and an HDMI port).  Check that it supports a double display set up, not just mirroring the output.

I have two UltraSharp U2414H displays on a MDS14 monitor stand connected to a Precision Tower 3420.  These are great monitors (mine are at rev. A04).

Does this laptop have any other video out ports? The HP specifications page does not list the ports?

Hello  Chris,
thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, the only one video port is 1xHDMI.

Kind Regards!

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I absolutely agree with you - 2414H are really great! :) If there is not other solution maybe I will try to find a docking station.

Hello all,

I found a solution - USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter Roline and it works well. The problem now is that the two monitors are with totaly different color. Any ideas how to fix this ?

Regards!

No idea. I think the USB out is using the Intel GPU? So maybe a driver issue. You should ask out here.

Thanks!

Yes, the both monitors are using Intel integrated video card.
