U2414H, PSM issue, GTX 750, HDMI
Hello,
I recently bought a U2414H. The U2414H is connected to a GTX 750 via HDMI. By the time I press the shut down button and the PC is shut down, the U2414H wont turn off. Instead, it will enter PSM (power save mode).Is there a way that the U2414H will be off and then on by the time I press the power button of the PC?

It sounds like it is acting as designed. Read the User's Guide, page 47.

So when the pc is shut down the monitor is not getting any signal so instead of turning off it goes into power save mode.
Because at page 46 it says "If either HDMI (MHL), Mini DisplayPort, or DP input is selected and the corresponding cable is not connected, a floating dialog box as shown below appears."
I mean the cable is connected but still the monitor pops the message as it is not (cause of the lack of signal maybe?).

Currently im getting the first one (the one with the 5 min) after i turn off the pc and not the last one.

Its not possible to test it to another pc cause i do not own a second one nor have some friend close to move the monitor.

I have tested the 2nd hdmi port of the monitor and it has the same response.Maybe its a cable/gpu issue?

Ok a little update.I teted with another hdmi cable and it works as it was supposed to be (without the 5 mins warning).I'm posting this in case someone has the same problem and it might be helpful to him/her.

Is there any way to prevent it from going into power save mode so quickly during a computer restart? There is no reason for that to happen and it just confuses the computer during the restart. It jumps over to the second monitor because the Dell went to sleep and didn't wake up in time. Why can't we have the same 5 minutes before it goes to sleep like when no cable is attached? It would solve a lot of problems. After looking through the forum, it shows that this problem has been chronic for many years. The monitor just needs to respond to the signal. Telling us to reset the monitor isn't fixing anything. We need the option to disable 'power save'. After all this time, why does the company resist in providing what should be a simple solution?
