U2419H, MacBook Pro, YPbPr color issue and resolution
Hi,
I recently purchased two 24'' U2419H monitors (Full HD1920x1080). Im connecting these two externally with my MacBook Pro 2018 (With retina display) using Type C to HDMI cables.
Now, i'm facing following two issues:
1. When im choosing color as "RGB" from monitors side button, the screen color turn into pink/violet/negative and looks so bad. It somehow just default and works only with "YPbPr". Why is that?
2. When im doing settings from MacBook Pro > Display > The resolution im seeing is "1080p". I know 1080p = 1920x1080 but somehow the text on these monitors looks horribly bad and sometimes hard to read.
Any one who has experienced similar issues with U2419H connecting them to MBK pro 2018?
Im thinking of try connecting them using DisplayPort instead HDMI and see how it goes.

Yeah, i have started thread in Apple community and seems like its a known issue. Will probably going to return these monitors and buy USB type c supported ones. Hopefully those will work.,

@SnapGeeko For the text issue, are you trying to use the MBP built-in display simultaneously? If so, then the MBP’s Retina Display means that macOS is trying to use two very different display scale factors simultaneously due to two very different display pixel densities in use — and when that happens, it will only OPTIMIZE for one or the other. The non-optimized display will not look as good as it could otherwise, and this will be especially noticeable on text. Windows has the same issue.
As a test, try going into your macOS Display Settings and choosing to optimize for the external display (primary or secondary, depending on how you're using it). If that helps, then chances are that text on your MBP’s built-in display won’t look as good anymore. As I said, Windows has this issue too, although it always optimizes for the primary display rather than giving you a choice to optimize for the secondary, which is handy when giving a presentation.
If that does NOT fix it, then it may be related to whatever is causing the other issue you mentioned, and unfortunately I don’t have any suggestion for what’s going on there.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, Dell Technical Support is not going to know how to troubleshoot the Dell monitor with the macOS. Dell Technical Support is only trained to troubleshoot the Dell monitor when connected to a supported Windows OS PC. Our advice is that you start a new thread on the Apple Forum discussing the issue.
You may refer user guide and run the built in test as per page # 46 to check if there is any hardware issue with the monitor.

Yeah, i tried changing text display settings but it doesn't seems to solve the issue. So, will give DP port a try and see how it goes. Otherwise will either buy QHD resolution monitor or above. I thought Full HD should work fine when to compare to MBK Pro resolution.
@jphughan Thanks for your reply though
