U2713HM HDMI = 1920x1080. U2713H HDMI = 2560x1440

How can I set max resolution 2550x1440 on 2713HM via HDMI?

My computer,
CPU Core i7
MB Asus P8Z77
Gigabyte ATI Radeon 7950 (Support HDMI 1.4)
U2713HM
Win 7 64 Bit
HDMI cable : Belkins (may be HDMI 1.3)

Yesterday, I went to buy HDMI cable, Belkins (may be HDMI 1.3), so I can set maximum resolution 1920x1080. If I change the HDMI cable to HDMI 1.4, Can I set maximum resolution 2550x1440? I want to use HDMI because I want to plug sound cable at the monitor. Please help to suggest.

Many thank for your help

Yud.

The U2713HM HDMI port only supports 1920x1080 =
HDMI 1920x1080 60Hz
VGA 2048x1152 60Hz
DVI-D, DisplayPort 2560x1440 60Hz

The U2713H HDMI port supports 2560x1440 =
HDMI, DVI-D, mDP, DP 2560x1440 60Hz

Hi Yud,

Yes, you can set the maximum resolution of 2550x1440 by following the steps provided below:

1. Right-click on the desktop and select "Personalization."
2. Click "Change Display Settings."
3. Move the slider-bar to the right by pressing and holding left-mouse button and adjust the screen resolution to "2560 x 1440."
4. Click "OK."

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi Yud,

Thank you for your reply. If you do not see 2560 x 1440 as an option, you will need to update your graphics driver and use Catalyst Control Center to change the resolution.

Hello,

before I send my U2713HM back i like to know for sure that the following set isnt possible as well:

>laptop hdmi out (Gt650M)

>U2713HM with adapter to DVI in

i m asking because in the TFT menu is written:

acutal res 1920x1080

maximum res: 2560x1440@60Hz

so. is it just a general info? or does the u2713hm support 2560x1440 with this set (and i have a mistake at another part of the system)

I really like the monitor. so i would be sad to send it back due to this kind of reason.

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your information.

I have the same problem too,

My motherboard have only got two HDMI ports which can display 1440p,

If I connect the U2713HM  display by "HDMI-to-Display Port Cable",

and plug the Display Port head into the U2713HM Display Port.

Do you think it can display 1440p?

Because base on my knowledge the HDMI and Diaplay port has similar pin configuration,

if the Display Port on the U2713HM does support  higher clock frequency.

It should able to display 1440p.

Please let me know if I am wrong.

Thank you

Hi;

I have this monitor and would like to get 2560x1440 - can you tell me which cable I should use?

I am using a 2013 Macbook Pro with HDMI and Thunderbolt outputs, using the supplied DVI cable with a DVI-Thunderbolt adapter only gave me 1920x1080.  Can I use DVI-HDMI (DVI from the monitor to the HDMI input on the Macbook) or do I need to go with DisplayPort to Mini-display port?  Can I use DisplayPort to HDMI (Display port on monitor to HDMI on Macbook)?

Also have a Lenovo Helix with Mini-displayport, I assume for that I should use Mini-display port to Display port?

Thanks,

Josh

HDMI 1920x1080 60Hz
VGA 2048x1152 60Hz
DVI-D, DisplayPort 2560x1440 60Hz

Unknown. We do not test on apple. But the monitor DVI-D port and our Dell DVI-D cable can do the higher resolution, so the issue must be with the DVI-Thunderbolt adapter, or the apple itself. Is the apple HDMI port supposed to do the higher resolution, no clue. You could test -
apple HDMI out --> HDMI to DVI adapter --> Dell DVI to DVI cable to U2713HM DVI in

Try mDP to DP to the Lenovo.

I believe that HDMI <-> DVI converters only allow HDM<-> DVI-SingleLink , so 1920x1200 max.

mDP to DP on both machines gives me the desired, full resolution option.

Thanks

Thanks - The Mac with the mDP to DP cable works great, I'll have to try the same with the Lenovo next.  I was hoping to use the HDMI out on the Mac to leave the Thunderbolt port available, but this works great.
