U2719DC, longer USB Type-C cable needed to enable Downstream Ports?
Have connected my Desktop via Display Port. I used the Dell supplied USB Type-C cable (C to C) cable from my desktop to monitor and the USB ports work fine.
However, my desktop is further away and the supplied USB Type-C cable is too short. I used some 3 meter USB Type-C cables I have and of course they don't work (tested and these cables aren't able to supply video to the monitor).
So, would be keen to know what spec USB Type-C cable I need for the downstream ports to work? Is it Thunderbolt? I don't need 4K video since won't be connecting a laptop via USB Type-C so would have thought a standard USB Type-C cable would have done the trick when all you need it for is for the 4 downstream USB ports to function.

Dell only validates the USB Type-C cable (C to C) provided by the U2719DC manufacturer LG. Some Forum users have tested this 6 foot USB Type-C cable (C to C) cable and had success. Any cable longer than 6 foot will degrade the signal causing issues and is outside the design parameters.

@Prothium you don't need a Thunderbolt cable because the U2719DC doesn't use Thunderbolt. Very few displays do, although the LG UltraFine 5K display is an exception.
You need a USB-C cable that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB 3.1 Gen 1. Most long cables only support power and USB 2.0. And I realize this next part won't be a concern while using it with a desktop, but if you want the full 90W of power available from the display to be available to a laptop you might ever want to connect through that cable, you'd need a USB-C cable that was also rated for 100W USB Power Delivery rather than the normal 60W. Last time I checked, the longest USB-C cable that supported DisplayPort Alt Mode and 100W USB PD was 6 feet long, like this one. You might have trouble finding longer cables than that because there are practical limits to how long cables can be while maintaining enough signal integrity to support the data rates they're expected to carry. Thunderbolt 3 cables can be longer despite carrying more bandwidth because Thunderbolt 3 supports "active" cables that incorporate signal booster chips within the cables themselves, but those don't work for regular USB-C traffic as far as I can tell.
