U3014, vertical lines, DVI-D

I'am having the exact same problem. How could this be a problem with the cable, even when I disconnect the cable, turn of the power and reboot my screen the lines still exist? Even after rebooting the screen multiple times. I connected an HDMI cable and after the second reboot I got my screen to work again.

* What computer model?
* What video card?
* List all ports on the video card
* What operating system?

Run the U3014 stand alone BID (Built in Diagnostics) =
* Turn the U3014 off
* Disconnect all cables from the U3014 except the power cord
* Looking at the U3014 buttons top to bottom, press and hold buttons 1 and 4 down for two seconds
* An all Gray screen appears. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to Red. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to Green. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to Blue. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to Black. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to White. Do you see the lines?
* Press button 4. The screen changes to text. Do you see the lines?
* To exit the test, press button 4

If you do not see the lines when running the BID, the fault is not with the monitor.
