U3219Q, MacBook Pro, USB Type-C not working

I am having same problem with a MacBook pro 16".  Worked fine for a long time then one day stopped working.  Have tried swapping out the USB-C cable with another Dell issued USB-C cable from another monitor in my office and it still does not work.

I have gone through all the normal steps apple suggests like resetting NVRAM, etc.  Upgraded to latest patch version of Catalina OS, etc.

Am currently using an HDMI cable and it works okay but I lose the USB capabilities such as power and accessories connected to the display. 

I would like the USB-C port to work again, can you help?
