U3415W High Pitch Sound

Hoping someone can help here, but I have a feeling this is going to be one of those live with it or send it back issues.  I have a high pitch whine coming from my u3415w that seems to increase in intensity the higher I turn up the brightness on the monitor.  I've tried hooking the monitor up to both my Windows 8.1 PC and my macbook Pro via the displayPort, but the sound is still there.

According to the User's Guide, the default setting for Brightness and Contrast are 75. Set those to the defaults.

Then use the Brightness setting in your video card control panel to raise it to your satisfaction.

Hi Chris, the problem is more that the increased brightness causes the high pitch whine to become louder.   Going above 71 in the monitor settings and the noise gives me a headache.  I can live with it most days below that level, but it is starting to get annoying.

Then lower it to 70 in the monitor OSD (On Screen Display) and make any brightness changes in the video card control panel.
