U3417W, Mac Mini, connections?
Hello,
I recently bought the October 2018 Mac Mini. I have the Dell curved UltraSharp U3417W. The U3417W supports mini Display Port, regular Display Port and an HDMI 2.0 port. The new Mac Mini has output ports for HDMI 2.0 and USB C Thunderbolt 3. What is the best connection to achieve the highest resolution, best color and most stable video?
Thank you.

We can see here under the U3417W "Operating system", that the monitor was never tested/validated by Dell with the Apple proprietary hardware and operating system. All we provided were true Windows PC testing and drivers. Thus, we cannot know how the Apple operating system and hardware is notating the Dell monitor. You should also post the question on the Apple Forum and see what other Apple users have done.
I can give you the theory of connections that would get 3440x1440 60Hz on a Windows based PC.
PC TB3/USB Type-C port --> USB-C to DP cable --> U3417W DP in port
PC HDMI 2.0 out port --> U3417W HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0 cable --> U3417W HDMI 2.0 in port

Thank you for the information. I plan to try both of the connections you suggest below and verify resolution, color and stability. Thanks again.

I am not sure what this means? "alternate mode cable adapters".

Again, I have not seen any reference to "alt-mode" in our monitor documentation. All you should need is a straight USB-C to DP cable .

Hi, I recently purchased a new MacBook And I got some of the error of resolution and setting of the different color setting and I got the solution iTunes error 3194 that can really help to connect my Dell printer to my Apple Mac device.
