U3818DW, HDMI signal cuts out intermittently
I can verify that this is not just an Apple product based problem (as seen in other thread) since I just started having the same issue with my one month old U3818DW on a PC machine. Screen goes black for a few seconds (1-2) and then comes back. Happens randomly. I have a 1060 6GB Nvidia card, fully updated, cable came with the monitor.

I had the same "black out intermittent" on my UP3216Q monitor. I tried another DP to mDP cable and the issue went away. So first, test another HDMI cable.
I would also remove the HDMI to HDMI cable. Test the DP to DP cable =
GTX 1060 DP out port --> DP to DP cable --> U3818DW DP in port
