U4320Q, DDM for macOS not working, #6

Sorry, I know this thread exists already, but it's been locked so I have to start a new one.

I have two Macs, a Mac Mini i5 and now a MacBook Pro M1.

DDM works on the Mac Mini i5 with my U4320Q monitor (after having upgraded the monitor to latest firmware M2T104 - confirmed in OSD). I'm using a Thunderbolt 2 (I think) to DisplayPort cable on this computer

DDM does NOT work on my M1 MacBook Pro on the same U4320Q monitor (M2T104 firmware). I'm using a USB Type-C to DisplayPort cable on this computer.

I'm kinda leaning toward a cable problem (because the monitor works on the i5, right?), but it's only DDM that's not working. The monitor is running fine at 4K 60Hz.

The U4320Q driver page now has a M2T105 firmware update for macOS. Give it a shot. IGNORE the file names on the driver pages. They are incorrect. I have changed mine below for clarity.

Before installing any U4320Q firmware =
* Turn off all non-essential software (Dell Display Manager, Steam, AntiVirus, Teams, Zoom, Discord, etc.)
* If connected via DP or HDMI cable, connect the USB upstream cable from the monitor to the PC

On the M1, DDM requires a USB connection and you are using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

Ok so Thunderbolt 4 cable should do the trick then?

Ok so I changed to Thunderbolt 4, and DDM is still not detected, so it appears as though it wasn't a cable problem (or at least it wasn't ONLY a cable problem).

As a reminder, DDM worked fine on my intel-based Mac Mini using the M2T104 firmware. I'm wary of updating the firmware using my Mac given... there's clearly a connection problem if DDM won't work, so I'll maybe wait and update with my PC.

Yes, well that didn't go so well:

Nothing scares me more than a failed firmware update. Not sure I want to continue down this path.

Oddly, the OSD now indicates my firmware is M2T103... it rolled back? This is freaking me out.

Second attempt to update firmware worked. Keep in mind that OSD and DDM still says M2T104, but DDM is now version 1.50.0.00.41 and is working fine. Thank you for the support!
