UP2516D, DUCCS 1.5.12 will not install

I have a Dell Ultrasharp UP2516D that is till running on the Calibration Solution 1.5.3 because software updates have consistently failed. I tried to update to the current 1.5.12 and installation failed somewhere in the Wizard installing the X-Rite Device Services Manager. The Calibration Tool appears to have installed the first part of the update OK, but running it failed when a .dll was missing (the screen changed before I could write it down). At least my monitor still worked (unlike the effort to upgrade to 1.5.10 when I was left with a black screen).

Two questions:

1. Are the improvements in 1.5.12 relative to 1.5.3 sufficient to justify the aggravation of working through the problems? (I did note that 1.5.10 was the first to specifically support this monitor)

2. What do I need to do to get the installation to complete?

I am running a Dell Studio XPS 9100, Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Nvidia Quadro K600.

Thanks

Thank ypu, Chris.

My U2716D monitor was manufactured in July 2017. I did a factory reset and it looks great!  But, I would like to be able to calibrate when / if needed. (I have had advice to calibrate, just because it is new)
Does it still need a firmware update before installing DUCCS?
Can I try installing DUCCS without the firmware update?
How can I check the firmware on my monitor to see if it is the proper version?

emallen1,

You replied to an older UP2516D thread, yet stated that you have the U2716D? Going to assume that you meant UP2716D.

How can I check the firmware on my monitor to see if it is the proper version?
* It is not listed in the OSD (On Screen Display) Menu. All you can do is run the firmware update. It will notify you of what version is currently installed and what version it will load.

Does it still need a firmware update before installing DUCCS?
* Yes.

Can I try installing DUCCS without the firmware update?
* No, it will fail.

Hi Chris,  Actually I do have a U2716D.  Does that make a difference?
