Re: What monitors have Aspect Scaling?

I do believe all new flat screen monitors have scaling, or at least HD monitors!

I hope this helps!

Re: What monitors have Aspect Scaling?

Chris,

I recently purchased the S2409W model.  I did not realize that it does not support aspect scaling.  All previous Dell monitors that I have purchased did support all aspect scaling (FPW models) and I "assumed" that this would be true on future purchases.  Unfortunately, having a monitor that supports aspect scaling is a must for my use.

Will Dell be providing a firmware update to include aspect scaling for the S2409W anytime soon?  If not, is there a trade-in program available that I can use to acquire an exchange/upgrade to a similar model that supports aspect scaling?

Regards,

Mr. Riley

Re: What monitors have Aspect Scaling?

No and No. You need to contact Order Support and return that monitor for Credit and purchase one that has Aspect Scaling. Did you check the video card display settings to see what Aspect options were present?

ATI
* Right-click your desktop, and open the Catalyst Control Center
* Set it to advanced mode if it's not already
* At the top left, click the Graphics menu
* Click Desktops & Displays
* For your desired display, left click the little black triangle in the bottom part of the screen
* Click Configure
* This part is very crucial. There is a little picture of a tiny Monitor and tiny Arrow at the far bottom left of the CCC menu. It is this tiny Arrow that you left click on by the button that says Basic and the button that says OK. When you click on the little black arrow (not the Big Black Arrow in the middle of the CCC window, you will get the option to click Configure. Then the following 6 buttons will be available to you:
Attributes
Avivo Color
Scaling Options
HDTV Support
LCD Overdrive
Pixel Format
* Under Attributes, check the Enable GPU scaling box and the select Scale image to full panel size
* Click Apply
* Under Scaling Options, there is a slider bar to set Underscan and Overscan. Set Overscan to 0%
* Click Apply- OK

NVIDIA
* Right click the desktop
* Click NVIDIA Control Panel
* Click Custom View- Define Custom View
* Put checks on all and choose Advanced Settings
* Click OK. It will refresh
* Under Display, click Adjust desktop size and position
* Choose Use NVIDIA scaling
* Click Apply and or OK

Re: What monitors have Aspect Scaling?

How do I find out whether a monitor can support SVGA (800 x 600) resolution before purchase. I want to connect a hardware which gives out only SVGA resolution.
