dell P2314H Compatible in a multi display setup with a S2340L?

Hi,

I am looking at getting the Dell P2314h monitor.

I currently have a Dell S2340L and I plan to use the P2314h as an extended monitor setup.

It would be preferable to get a second S2340L unfortunately they have been discontinued here in South Africa.

I have come across reviews of the Dell P2314h having a sub pix set of BGR rather than RGB.

Is this still the case and will it cause any compatibility issues between the two screens?

Furthermore,  will I be able to have crisp clear text on both monitors if they are set up in multiple display setup as reported as an issue by some?

I have also looked at the Dell SE2416H as an alternative.

Between the Dell P2314h and the Dell SE2416h which is the better option to go with in terms of compatibility and performance?

I am working on windows and soon will be on windows 10.

Thank you in advance!

Regards

Craig

S2340L, 1920x1080 60Hz, HDMI/VGA, NO Windows 10 driver. But Windows 10 should at least do 1920x1080 60Hz using its default PNP driver

P2314H, 1920x1080 60Hz, DP/DVI-D/VGA, Windows 10 driver, Going forward (December 2014), all should be RGB

SE2416H, 1920x1080 60Hz, HDMI/VGA, NO Windows 10 driver. But Windows 10 should at least do 1920x1080 60Hz using its default PNP driver

So all do the same resolution. Compatibility would depend on the video out sources on the computer and whether you are using a discrete video card or the onboard video.

Thank you for the response!

I have spoken to a Dell re seller here in South Africa. They have advised that the P2314H models they have available were produced early 2015. They still have BGR sub pixel set unfortunately according to them and is the latest model available here.

I will continue looking to see if I can find an RGB version.

However, the SE2416H may be the alternative I go with if I am unable to find one.

Is the quality of the screen of a SE2416H as good as a P2314h?

I am on a budget so these are my options for this sized display.

I will be plugging the screens into a Gigabyte geforce gtx 960 4gig through hdmi and Display port as appropriate. I am aware that I will need a Display port to HDMI adapter if I go with the SE2416H.

Craig
